We Free the Stars
by Hafsah Faizal
A huntress, an assassin, a warrior, and a general... continuing their journey in defeating the Lion of the Night. Picking up where the last book left off, Altair is still being held captive but Zafira, Nasir, and Kifah are heading towards the Sultan’s keep to finish the plan Altair had set in motion before finally going to rescue him. They must restore the hearts of the Sisters ofOld and finally return magic to Arawiya. Too bad they are low on resources, allies, and Zafira is battling with the darkness from the bond between her and the newly acquired Jawarat... constantly pushing her to the edge of chaos that she could unleash. Not to complicate things further but the feelings between Nasir and Zafira are also getting more complicated.. with both of them falling in love with the other but Nasir not being able to voice his emotions and Zafira fearing that she might become a monster and that she is not worthy of being his partner. Altogether we have a complicated rescue mission, emotional damages, and oh look at that more people have joined the mission to further complicate feelings. This was a beautiful ending to the story and adventure. I loved the characters and the emotional depths they all had. Altair ( my sweet boy) really went through it in this book and someone just needs to hug him. Nasir and Zafira’s feelings for one another were sweet and at times you'd want to shake one of them and just tell them to just communicate with the other one and voice their feelings, it would save them a lot of misunderstanding and heart ache. Zifah really remains a QUEEN. Overall, this was a gorgeous series and I had a great time reading it.
