This is a new and interesting take on a zombie romance. Kee is the alpha in a group of un-dead lab rats. Ben is his zookeeper and protector. Luckily Ben hates his job. Testing on reanimated humans is not something Ben imagined he would be doing with his life. Even more straining is that he is imagining lustful scenarios with Kee, a living being who is not dead but not human. Kee is like a new baby boy. Limited vocal skills but big, powerful and eager to learn. While he doesn’t know Ben besides as his captor, he wants to take care of and protect Ben, and turn his frown upside down. Overall a very interesting read. It’s not the first book in the series, but that does not hinder the reader in any way.
