Atalanta by Jennifer Saint
3.0

Despite Greek mythology retellings being overdone I was excited to read this. I loved Ariadne by the same author and had high hopes. I'm typically drawn to mythology retellings because of the allure of strong, badass female characters and their epic (and sometimes) unknown tales that get overshadowed. I went into this not knowing anything about Atalanta and I loved her. I loved her resilience and bravery. But... the story itself was kind of boring. She's apart of The Argonauts and the hunt for the golden fleece but the story felt uninteresting and lacked depth. I know there's only so much original story that Jennifer Saint can work with it, but it was still flat.
