Allegedly
by Tiffany D. Jackson
This book was disturbing and infuriating. I thought it was perfect up until the last chapter. It is worth the read if you have a strong stomach, but I feel the main character was done a disservice in the final few pages. This could have been an incredible redemption story, but it instead turned out to be a psychological thriller in disguise. I do think the subject of the realities of foster homes was very powerful throughout the novel and made a bold statement about how the kids living in them deserve better.
