A Prayer for Travelers
by Ruchika Tomar
dark
mysterious
fast-paced
Cale works at the local diner with Penny in their small desert town. When Penny doesn't show up for work one day, Cale goes looking for her. After discovering Penny has left her phone behind, Cale knows something is wrong. As she desperately tries to get help looking for Penny, Cale realizes she is just going to have to take matters into her own hands.
What I Liked:
- told out of chronological order but still easy to follow
- mystery of Penny missing sucks you right into the story
- short chapters keep you reading
- atmospheric writing so I felt like I was with Cale
