Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire
4.0

I've been hearing about this book quite a lot lately and that's why I chose to finally read it and I'm so glad I did, because I loved it!

The story follows a bunch of interesting characters that all have been through different Doors in their lives and now all live in a boarding school. I love boarding school settings, I think it adds so much coziness and mystery to any story!

I thought this would be a light-hearted novel, about whimsical worlds, etc but let me tell you, it's equal parts creepy as well and even though I wasn't expecting it, I loved it! The murders that take place add an element of mystery to the story that makes the reader turn the pages faster and faster, I their effort to finally uncover the killer.

What stood out to me was the yearning every child had for the world hiding behind their Doors. Even though we know little about those worlds, the longing everyone feels moved me deeply. I especially loved Nancy's story, her sorrow was palpable and the ending was also so bittersweet!

All in all, it's a short book that doesn't need to be any longer, it's a quick and creepy adventure, that I'm sure all of you will enjoy!
