Recipe for Chaos
by Jaxon Knight
Light, fun and sweet. 4.5 stars
This was my first foray into the Fairyland world and I felt like I was at the theme park. The author described everything beautifully and I was fully engaged with the well developed characters.
Throw into a mixing bowl a bit of snark, some humour, a tiny dash of angst and a pinch of drama. Mix it all together and you get a wonderful read that’s light, fun and sweet.
Charlie is a sensible man who loves his job as a chef at the Fairyland theme park. He’s not into staying out late at clubs or being fake to impress others.
What he’d like is a bit more control in his kitchen so he can shake up the menu and have the freedom to experiment and not be stifled by the park branding.
Max is meant to follow in his demanding Mother’s footsteps and take over the park she developed from the ground up. He prefers to go clubbing, party and have fun and not get too involved with anyone. He’s also accustomed to getting what he wants.
Charlie prepares a delicious meal for Max and Max then has a case of “insta-love” towards Charlie. But none of his pick up moves, designed to make him look impressive, work on Charlie and he starts to feel very off balance.
After some enlightening moments for both Max and Charlie, they finally get their HEA. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it. It can be read as a stand-alone but I’ll be going back to Fairyland to read the first 2 books in the series.
