This book was heartbreaking for me. I felt so many things for Adunni - anger when she was married off, despair when she was forced to set off on her own, and fear when she arrived at Big Madam's. Adunni was filled with so much hope and it was contagious both to the other characters in the story and to this reader. Such a beautiful book.
