I grabbed this because I wanted to start reading the books after having watched the Netflix show last year, and I want to try and read at least the first two novels before S2 of Bridgerton comes out in a couple of months.

I've not really read many historical romances, and I wasn't too sure if this would be the writing style I liked or not, or even if I'd find it easy to read, given that I've seen the show. I needn't have worried though, because this book was easy to read and I enjoyed it. It seems like the show has been kept quite close to the book, and as I read, I pictured the cast as the characters. It felt like a nice refresher before moving onto the next season before it comes out.

I definitely plan on making sure I read the next book before then too, and look forward to reading the ones after that. It's quite the world that Julia Quinn has created and I can see why it is so popular.
