An absolutely phenomenal read! The banter, the trials, the twists! Everything about this book had me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next.
The trials in the Arcane Crucible were deadly and unique but also extremely thought provoking as a reader. The main Arcanians and Cedric Thorne were the perfect group of characters and each one brought such a wonderful approach to the trials and the inevitable friendships.
Also, the enemies to reluctant allies to love interest was the best kind of slow burn to experience because so many times I was screaming for the characters to “kiss already!” That when they finally do kiss, I was kicking and screaming followed by tears.
The amount of individual and group sacrifice the characters endure on top of the major betrayals have gotten me hooked on this world and I am desperate for another book to continue the journey of the shattered crown.
