The first part of the book is really long, and it was hard to get through. There was a lot of lore to build up and background to give. The first part of the book really builds on relationships and we're meeting a lot of people for the first time. The second part showed a lot action and provided good context to why the first part mattered so much. The third part, my heart was broken multiple times and I'm still reeling from it. At first, I wasn't sure I was going to finish this series. With the context to have things make sense, I don't think I'll be able to just go by not completing this full story.
Be warned, this is a heavy book. I had to read happy things in addition to this to help balance myself out. Nobody is safe, lots of people die, genocides and really really bad things happen.
