It was ok. I have read a couple of other books by this author and enjoyed them, since this one was so recommended I thought I would enjoy it.
I didn’t particularly like or dislike either of the main characters. Chloe was great at points and annoying at others (like with the cat) and so was Red. By the end I didn’t have any strong feelings about them except that they shouldn’t be together. The third and break up really wasn’t needed but when it happened and Chloe started saying they shouldn’t get back together I agreed.
The story also felt incomplete. It went straight from her witnessing a car accident and living at home to two months later when the list was already written, I would have liked to see it being written but it also took me a minute to catch up. The way he was introduced was not what I was expecting from the blurb, which makes him out to be kind of a bad boy type and so does her perspective but it never lines up with his character (other than owning a motorbike and having tattoos I guess).
The chronic illness rep was good but I am tired of reading books where someone with a chronic illness or disability refuses any help even when they need it because they are strong and can do everything themselves. I get it but I also struggle with pain due to hyper mobility and it really gets annoying when the only rep is that. Yes we can do it ourselves but if we didn’t have this pain would we feel the need to?? This especially annoyed me with how pro therapy she was and yet seemed to never have gone to therapy.
Overall I regret buying this one. I don’t hate it or like it. I kind of dislike it but not even that, it just feels like I wasted time reading it.
