The Light We Lost
by Jill Santopolo
I really enjoyed The Light We Lost. The story starts on September 11th, when Lucy is a college student, and follows her life over the next 13 years as she faces tough choices about love and relationships.
It’s emotional, thought-provoking, and full of moments that make you question what love really means.

While Lucy sometimes frustrated me with her decisions, I found I wanted to keep reading to see which choice she made. My favorite quote sums up the bittersweet theme of the book:
"A tear rolled down my cheek. If you died, I realized just then, it would mean that I’d be the keeper of our memories. I’d be the only one on Earth who had experienced them."
