The Human by Keary Taylor
4.0

I first want to say thanks so much to the author, Keary Taylor, for sending me an eARC for review! (Also Keary, if you're reading this - your email with the eARC went to my junk mail so I only got it a few days ago! I would have read and reviewed this MUCH sooner if I had seen it! Sorry the reviews a little delayed. :))

I read The Bane way back when it was still called Eden, and I really liked it. It was one that I read when I first started getting really into reading post-apocalyptic and dystopian novels. So, I was really really excited when I found out that there was going to be a sequel!! I won't go into to much detail so I don't spoil things for those that haven't read it yet.

The Human is jam packed with action and tons of awesome sci-fi. I really liked how there were some new characters and new struggles. Of course, there is still the Bane, which I can't help but be creeped out by. The way that Keary Taylor describes their faces paints the perfect picture in my head, and I would not want to be in the main character, Eve's position. Also there was some romance, which I still ended up liking even though Eve didn't pick the guy I'd hoped... But I liked how the relationship between Eve and the guy (that's what I'll call the guy she didn't pick) developed even though it was strained.

I still think that Eve is a total BA. The things that she goes through in this book are disturbing. Also I loved getting to look more into her past through flashbacks. That was pretty cool!

I must say, I was not expecting that big reveal at the end! Ahh I don't know what to say but - it really caught me off guard!

Overall, I really enjoyed The Human! For those of you that love sci-fi and post-apocalyptic books, this series is perfect for you!! Also thanks soooo much to Keary Taylor for sending me a copy for review! :)
