Guilty Creatures: Sex, God, and Murder in Tallahassee, Florida
by Mikita Brottman
fast-paced
The thing i appreciate about this book is the way it lays out the contradictions between the way evangelicals act and what they believe, and shows that purity culture is so toxic it becomes easier to literally commit a murder than to just divorce when you're having an affair. As a former evangelical, the most devout people i know are also some of the worst people i know, and a culture like what's described in this book is exactly why.
