I may be doing the book a disservice with a 2-star rating. I did receive value in the form of information about the legal system in France in the late 1300s. And about the lives of some minor nobles. But I found the book to be very dry; there was nothing in it that made me care about the subjects at all (excepting Marguerite). Perhaps I've been conditioned by too much historical fiction.
