Cookie Dough or Die by Virginia Lowell

OK story, clever mystery, though perhaps a bit convoluted:
Spoilerwith the murder victim hiding a part of a letter in a cabinet at the shop. Why not the whole letter?
Other than that, well crafted.

I wasn't wowed by the book though. But it flowed well enough to keep me reading. The ending nearly made my drop my rating when
SpoilerHugh stepped through the door with Lily on his arm. Livie and Maddie hadn't even had time to pick up the pieces of the broken cabinet, and he's already managed to get a cast on his arm and convinced Social Services that he is Lily's biological father?
I decided to overlook that one.
