The Flash Vol. 13: Rogues Reign
by Joshua Williamson
This is part of the whole "year of the villain" storyline going on in DC and...it's not too bad.
Commander cold and Captain cold go head to head after the Flash goes missing and the other speed force users can't use their powers. But a unlikely ally comes to Barry's aid to help stop Captain Cold. Of course Cold is super fucking charged because Lex Luther after 60 years decides to boost all villains powers, making them a actual threat to heroes.
What I really enjoyed was the shocking death of a main character. Actually two, but the other wasn't as shocking or brutal. On top of that the art for this volume was a lot more consistent and some great fights. There's a brutal fight where Flash goes all out and holy shit is it nice. Saying that I hate the design of almost all the villains here except for Cold's sister. I also think it was more filler than anything because the end finally sets up the final storyline and it's far more compelling.
It's a 3.5 out of 5.
