The Kalista Diamond by Erin Moira O'Hara
4.0

Copy received from the author for an honest review.

I met Ms O'Hara at a couple of book conventions over the past month, and this series sounded very interesting, so I was very happy to receive a copy of The Kalista Diamond to review.

Kallie has had a rough trot in life, and it is not surprising that she is very distrustful of people. So many people want things she has - land and a precious diamond - and will go any way about getting it.

Sam is a man on a mission - not to get Kallie or the diamond, but to catch the man who is after those things. Well, it starts that way....

The minute they catch each other's eyes across a quiet country street, there is that spark of attraction that neither can resist.

There is so much more behind Sam's story than he is letting on, and as much as she wants him and he wants her, she is wary of what he is really there for. He needs to keep a cool head around her and doesn't want to get involved.

As things start to come out about Sam and the other new men in town, there is a great sense of "who are they? What do they want? Who is the bad guy here?

And man there is so many people to pick from in the bad guy sweepstakes!

My heart broke for Kallie as everything she thought about those she loved starts to crumble around her

The suspense about who is who was captured so well, and it wasn't until all other possible suspects were ruled out that we found out who the baddy really was. I had suspicions about each and every one of them but when I found out.. wow!!

This book was set around areas of Australia that I have been to, so I could picture the small town it was set it, which I loved!

This is a great start to the Steele Ops series, and I can't wait to get started on book 2! This carries on with characters we have already met in this first book.
