A phenomenal entry in this series, The Song Rising is an epic tale of one woman's journey to fight for her people's survival. This book could not be more timely, although I fear that all dystopian fiction will feel timely now. Still, the apparent timeliness shouldn't detract from the merits of this work. Every book in the series peels back the layers a little more on this complex and fascinating world. I can't wait to see what is in store over the course of the next four books.
