Although I enjoy Carlos and his playfulness I was not originally excited to read his story. Actually I was kind of annoyed that of all the women in the story it was Shanna's sister Sparks decided to use has his love interest. But I instantly connected with Caitlyn. I actually think I like her more then Shanna. She's smart and brave but girly and isn't trained in law enforcement like the previous heroines. She just felt real to me. Carlos is determined to continue his quest to find more Were-panthers and a possible mate for himself so he can provide a mother for his orphans. He fights his attraction to Caitlyn because eventhough he acknowledges that she's everything he wants, she's not a shapeshifter. Poor Caitlyn is hit with a lot in a matter of weeks. First she finds out her manipulative and controlling father is responsible for keeping her and her big sister Shanna part for almost a decade. She's an aunt! Her sister is married to a vampire, and the guy she has the hots for turns fuzzy. But instead of flying off the handle she tries to accept it all and move forward. There were a lot of funny moments and a new storyline with new bad guys. I really enjoyed this book and think it was a good addition to the series.
