I genuinely believe good mermaid books are out there. Lost Voices was amazing. I want another Lost Voices. This is not the book I was looking for.

Of Poseidon takes an entitled bro and a stupid girl who lets entitled bro act like a 50-Shades-of-Grey abusive boyfriend treat her like property, throws in some demented secondary characters, and stirs it up with the soup spoon of whiny teenage problems. I liked that they brought in science and talked about how the physics of mermaids work, and the ending was a helluva cliffhanger, but overall this was a serious disappointment.
