It's very difficult to find a truly fresh voice in fantasy, especially epic fantasy. Kai Ashante Wilson has that and more. A wonderful world, an amazing story that had me yearning for more, complicated characters that i loved and above everything: A story that didn't read like a cheap Tolkien copy but carved a space in the world for itself.
