I don't know if any of my thoughts constitute an honest review because even after finishing I *think* that this book deserves four stars even though I don't think it worked for me. In part that's my fault: I didn't read around it enough to know what I was expecting and therefore went in with different expectations. But the characters were engaging, the story was masterfully crafted, everything that should work, worked.
So: four stars. But not for me.
