The Witch of Willow Hall by Hester Fox
5.0

What an incredible debut novel by Hester Fox!
This isn’t my usual kind of read but I was so wrapped up in every page of this book! I absolutely adored Lydia as a character. She was so strong for a woman in that time even if it may not seem that way at times. For someone her age she went through so much throughout the book and handled it with such class and character, never flinching to protect her family even when they were ungrateful for it.
I do want to say one thing... Has anyone else noticed how books set in the 1800’s and early 1900’s always have major misunderstandings because the characters just assume they know what the other person is talking about or referring to? It really is a theme for misunderstandings in those time periods and was basically the whole premise of this book in a way, two people who just didn’t know how to talk to each other.
Anyway, I absolutely loved this and highly recommend it!
