An improvement over the first book in the series.   I still like the "Misfits" vibe and the mind control aspects.   This time there is more personality being written into the characters however several of the characters don't quite seem complete. 

The music choices still suck. 

In the trauma dark romance sub genre the Royals of Forsythe is the pinnacle of these novels.   So the bar was raised quite high and it will be hard to find novels that compare in their darkness or their depth of characters
