A few years back, I got my hands on just about all of the Marvel Cosmic books I could (Nova, Guardians of the Galaxy, whatever Rachel Grey & Team were in, Inhumans, Annihilation, War of Kings). It was good, GOOD stuff. Then the cosmic line kinda disappeared, and in its place, we have Bendis and a new version of Guardians of the Galaxy.

These Guardians are all flash and no substance. Perhaps there hasn't been enough time with them, perhaps it was Angela joining (whoever the hell she's supposed to be...), perhaps it's the forced inclusion of the huge Infinity/Inhumanity crossover. Or maybe it's knowing Bendis and his inability to write deep characters unless they're Ultimate Spider-Men. I don't know what it is, exactly, but this current series just doesn't hit the spot the way the previous run did.

If you REALLY want a great Guardians of the Galaxy story and to understand the characters on a deeper level, go for the Abnett/Lanning run.
