The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie
by Alan Bradley
Ugh I was annoyed with Flavia and just so much details about everything. Everything! She’s 11 years old but apparently a genius. She’s also spoiled imo. I couldn’t stand all the details about her chemistry stuff and then just sooo much detail about the town, her history of the people in her family and the townspeople too! Too much detail that I was skim reading over that in the end. Other than this fault I did like Flavia and the other characters.
The other parts of the book was good. Good mystery for my first mystery book. Not sure the timeline despite so much details. I got that her father was in school in 1920 and that it’s sometime much after WWII.
