A really fun world with excellent character building. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to keep reading after the first book, but this second one definitely made me want to continue the series. The biggest detraction for me is the spice, as I don’t like that in books. Another reason the book didn’t score higher was that none of the foul language made sense. This is an invented world, with different races, and different languages. There are passages of fantastic language that are completely ruined with a modern day. English curse word. I think it’s lazy writing. The true identity of Prosper Beck took me by surprise in the best way
