Waiting for Derek by Izaia Winter

“Who’s a pretty kitty?” Kane asked as he scratched along my jaw. “You are.” I preened for him. I was a pretty kitty. My Masters told me so.

I really love this series and this book is another great one. It’s the second time I’ve read it and enjoyed it just as much as the first time. It’s low angst, MMM with two brothers (who don’t cross swords). The brothers are super codependent, but the relationship feels healthy. There’s a lot of focus on Derek exploring pet play and his submissive side, and it feels really believable. Highly recommend.

People wouldn’t know it by looking at me, but I preferred my relationships to be more… affectionate in nature. In public, I was always calm and collected. A consummate professional. But in private, I was the kind of person that craved touch. And lots of it. Whether it was full-blown cuddling on the couch or just having my foot resting against my partner’s leg, I needed to feel connected to them in some way.

“A few guys have tried pitting us against each other, but it just doesn’t work. There’s this little thing we do called communication. We trust each other on a level not many people seem to get. And I think they underestimate the love I have for him. Nothing makes me happier than seeing someone take care of my brother, and he feels the same way about me.”
