What a doozy of a trip Nova and Rosa took us on.
Nova and Rosa are forced into a marriage to settle a decade long dispute between their families. The amount of tension from the beginning is so strong that you could feel it while reading. The tension only gets stronger as Nova makes it clear that it is strictly an obligation and will be nothing more than that, no matter what. (don't we just love when a MMC says that when we know by the end of the book, he will be signing a different tune and groveling for forgiveness)
Rosa is such a fiery spirit and makes sure that Nova knows that she will not just bow down to him and be a pawn in his games. The pranks and banter escalated the longer they were married until something snapped and Nova wanted more from Rosa than just being a pawn.
Nova from the beginning was ruthless, conniving and heartless. Things began to shift with him when he realized how resilient and strong Rosa was. Watching him go from vindictive and spiteful to vulnerable and sweet at times was great growth for him to be man that Rosa would want to stay married to.
The characters had amazing growth, both as individuals and definitely as a strong couple, the plot was both angst filled but also had moments of vulnerability and sweetness, the family rivalry added more depth to the characters as they tried to navigate the rivalry while coming to terms with their feelings with each other as they grew stronger. and the chemistry between them, it was insane π₯
