I’m giving this book five stars because her prose was that good. It’s really incredible. The way she writes her memories kept me interested no matter how much I wanted that part of the story to end.
This book is not for everyone. There are multiple people in my life that i would not recommend this book to. It’s hard to read about a religious zealot and what seems like untreated mental illness. It’s hard to read about a victim being gaslit from the victim herself or the portrayal what to be seems like an abusive childhood with almost complete neutrality.
I yelled, screamed, audibly gasped, almost cried, and couldn’t wrap my mind around what I was reading, but continued reading because it was so good.
