this review is basically this: any problems i have with this are solely in me and my own preferences, not at all in how this book is done
the topic is extremely important, abuse between queer couples is really rare to see discussed. carmen maria machado’s recounting is haunting and heartbreaking
this book was amazing, i just have quibbles due to me not enjoying flowery writing styles (usually), and the short chapters and style changes between them felt disjointed. but again this book is very very good, it only didn’t get 5 stars because of my own preferences
