Just Roommates by Charity Ferrell
5.0

It’s no secret that I love Blue Beech and pretty much everyone in that town. Just Roommates added to my love of the town and the people who live in it.

Sierra starts sneaking into Maliki’s bar when she is 18, of course, he turns her down and continues to do so throughout the years. I loved the back and forth banter and flirtation they had. However, once Sierra is finally 21, Maliki’s thoughts of friendship with her change. They become closer. They are both special to each other, they both old special places in each other’s lives. They run to each other for support. But things change, there is a wedge between them. But when Sierra needs a place to go, Maliki opens his doors and they become roommates.

I loved Sierra and Maliki’s relationship and their chemistry from the very first page and continued to fall in love with them throughout the story. Sierra is more than just the mayor’s daughter and the pageant princess. She’s hard working, but she has also been hurt in the past when it comes to relationships. Maliki, he’s the bar owner, the boy from the wrong side of the tracks, the one who doesn’t do relationships. This was a slow burn, but so worth it. There were a few bumps in the road they had to overcome throughout the story.

I loved getting some repeat visits from some of the previous characters *cough* Dallas *cough* and some introduction into some new potential characters for future stories. I hope there are more books in the Blue Beech series because I am truly not ready to leave this town yet.
