Girl, Serpent, Thorn
by Melissa Bashardoust
dark
slow-paced
This was an interesting fantasy that takes from Parisian mythology and has a bit of a Sleeping Beauty quality to it.
This was kind of a slow burn book. A girl with poison in her veins should be exciting and have a lot of action where she accidentally touches people a lot right? No, she's hidden away in shame by her family. It isn't until she trusts the wrong person that things change, we get a bit of action in a battle, then back to slow.
There were so many interesting demons (here called divs) and most would be fearsome to look at, but once again..... Not much there with them besides that.
I did enjoy reading it but it's not something I'll think about later.
