The Bird and the Sword
by Amy Harmon
I've come to realize that sometimes certain book work in your life at the moment and sometimes they don't. Or something that I read before, doesn't work today. I read this book a while back and ended up scanning most of it. The writing was beautiful, but I just wasn't ready for Lark, Tirus, and the magic yet. However, this week I was! I loved it! I loved the whole bird scenario, because well, I like birds! The prose was lovely, but not overly done to where I'm like this doesn't make any senseāit was spot on. Tirus was very dominant, and I liked that Lark didn't let him walk all over her, and they worked awesomely together! The whole gifted aspect was cool, too, especially Lark with her "word" magic. I haven't read anything like that before! I am now ready for Kjell's story!!
