This book offered valuable information, including helpful exercises, concerning calming and opening the mind, but Beck's tone was off-putting to me, especially her intensely negative outlook on religious devotion (an ironic close-mindedness that made it hard to take some of her other opinions seriously). I wanted more depth to many of the examples - she made a lot of assumptions that we'd understand who she was talking about just because they were "famous."
