We Were Liars by E. Lockhart
5.0

Normally when I figure out how a book's going to end early on, I don't feel satisfied when I finish. Whatever emotional chord it was supposed to strike is generally muffled by however many pages I've had to prepare. I figured out what was going to happen in We Were Liars around page 48. I finished the book, closed it, and promptly cried anyway. It was complicated and challenging and without any solid answers to life's big questions about money and family and how to be a good person who lives a moral life. I loved it.
