Despite the fact that Hideo has launched a program to control the minds of everyone in the world he’s just a misunderstood guy right? He didn’t mean for it to cause people to kill themselves.... 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ I literally couldn’t with Emika in this book. I feel like most of the book was about her pining away over Hideo and trying to convince him his algorithm was bad then it was about actually stopping the bad things from happening. This is the problem I am having with a lot of YA fantasy lately. I need to find books that aren’t like that and it’s so hard because it seems like even female authors struggle with writing strong female characters in literature. The whole love story could have been kept out of the story and it still could have been an incredible book. I want authors to start realizing this!
