The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest
by Stieg Larsson
*RECOMMENDED BY CONNOR WARREN
I felt very similarly about this book and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Both had very slow, overly descriptive (but still engaging, don't get me wrong) first halves. In both, the real plot kicked in at about the halfway point, and I suddenly couldn't put the books down.
I adored all of the events occurring around Lisbeth's trial. The satisfaction that I felt as all of the puzzle pieces clicked together to bring about justice for one of society's most wronged (fictional) victims was so fun to experience.
Overall, this book is a fabulous final chapter in the Millennium series.
p.s. did anyone else notice the absolute overuse of road names throughout the whole series? Maybe it would have been nice as a reference if I were a Stockholm resident, but as an NC teenager it just felt like an SNL Californians skit gone Swedish.
She told Blomkvist to fasten his seatbelt and drove over Slussen to Ă–stermalm and parked on a side street off Artillerigatan.
They followed the red Audi via Hamngatan to Strandvägen and then straight up to Artillerigatan.
I could go on all day.
