Update
I was finally able to finish this book by listening to it and refusing to stop. There was an interesting twist, for lack of a better word near the end, but I still really dislike the mother. She's not a pleasant individual. Granted, she does acknowledge this through her letters, but that doesn't change anything. I'm impressed by the seeming growth that takes place eventually, but in my opinion the only difference between her and Kevin is that she didn't kill anyone.

Overall, the concept was interesting, but I think it could have been handled better. But then, I'm really not a fan of this type of book in general so maybe it's amazing and the problem is just me. I don't know. I won't recommend this, but I can't bring myself to warn people off, either.

Ugh... I tried reading some of this today and I really just can't handle it. Maybe I'll come back to it again, but for now I'm giving up. I think this is the first book I've ever actually given up on. o_O
