Baby Mine by Kennedy Fox
4.0

Baby Mine, book one in the Hunter & Lennon Roomate Duet, is an emotional ride by writing duo, Kennedy Fox.

I love Kennedy Fox! These ladies perpetually give me all the feels, loads of angst & swoons, and flawed characters I can’t get enough of. And I just knew I was going to enjoy this book after reading their free novella that introduces the Roomate Duet Series, Forever Mine.

The story is amazing! Baby Mine has great wit, banter, ANGST, heartache, and sexy times. I was a little wary when I first read the synopsis. I guess I was a bit worried how believable it (mostly Hunter and Lennon’s relationship after Brandon) would come across. Kennedy Fox did their thing, though, and not only made it seem plausible but did it with conviction — I was feeling everything!

And, OF COURSE, they dropped had a nice, big CLIFF HANGER at the end (it’s okay, though, because readers don’t have to wait long before the next book)!

As for the characters, my heart ached for every one of them! I can’t even imagine what it would be like to be in Hunter’s shoes; to sit back and watch your best friend with the girl you want. He acted like a bonehead more than once, but can you blame him?! Lennon is blind to Hunter’s feelings, probably because he does such a good job of pushing her away. Then add the loss of Hunter’s best friend/Lennon’s boyfriend/their roommate, Brandon! Brandon is very likeable, too, so my heart broke at his death. These are exactly the flawed but fabulous characters I have grown to love from KF.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this book if you love angsty, sexy, heart-wrenching stories! I would like to suggest reading Forever Mine beforehand because it sets up the series nicely, though it’s not necessary to begin this duet. I can’t wait to see what’s coming Hunter and Lennon’s way in book two!
