The Raven and the Dove

There were a lot of things I liked about this book, and a few small things that frustrated me. I thought the world-building was cool and intriguing, and I enjoyed all of the characters introduced. At times I felt frustrated with characters’ decisions but that’s honestly just me being mad at their choices and not bad writing or anything. My only complaint would be that there seemed to be a lot of hinting and setting up for a larger, more complex plot and premise to the series - which interested me a lot - but at times made it feel like the whole book was a set up for the next one. All in all, I’m really interested to see where the next book goes - especially for Xander and Cassi who were my favorite characters. This book was an exciting start for the series, and I feel like the storylines and character arcs that come out of the future books are going to be really fun and I can’t wait to read them.
