Blind Pass
by Monty Jay
I knew going into Emerson’s story that it would be an emotional one but this wrecked me! This story was emotional, heartbreaking, full of pain, but also full of love, redemption and second chances.
Emerson is the bad boy of the NHL, he lost his best friend, the girl he loved, and almost lost his sister all due to his addiction and now he is working on recovering, working on being a better person. Getting a second chance with the last person he ever expected helped give him even more motivation to stay sober. Sofia was friends with Em and dating his best friend, Ian. She lost them both that day of the accident, but she still had a little piece of Ian in her son. She is strong, she is hardworking and she is a great mom to her son. She is hurt by Emerson and what happened in the past, but knows that he could be good for her son.
I loved the chemistry between Emerson and Sofia. I loved their relationship and their friendship. I loved seeing Emerson with Z. There were so many sweet moments and I loved that he was there for the both of them. Emerson is open and real when it comes to his addiction and how it affected him, his friends, his family and how he still continues to struggle with it. Monty Jay didn’t make addiction look good, she was real and honest about it and that is something I love about her stories.
From start to finish this story was beautiful and emotional. The extended epilogue was pure perfection, especially if you’ve read the entire series and a great set up to what I hope is a sign of something to come in the future because I am here for it!
If you are looking for an emotional, real, beautiful second chance romance with hockey mixed in this is one to read.
