It's when I read this kind of cute, sweet teen romance that I realize I am old (well not really because I’m still young haha but 15yo is far away now).

I spent half the scenes in the book wondering where their parents were, what they'd think about this if they only knew. Wondering how I would react as a mother when my daughters will go through this kind of things and if those characters weren’t too young for it all.

Ah the jours of adulthood and the responsibilities of parenthood.

This is also one of the reasons I preferred the show (available on Amazon Prime) to the book. The show gives another dimension to the events and also depth to the adult characters in the book, allowing them to exist other than through Belly's eyes.

In short, a light and nostalgic romance, perfect for the summer and for fondly remembering your fifteenth, whether it was 15 years ago or you are still in it.

C’est en lisant ce genre de romance toute mignonne et gentille pour ados que je me rends compte que j’ai vieilli. J’ai passé la moitié des scènes du livre à me demander où étaient leurs parents, ce qu’ils penseraient de tout ça si seulement ils savaient. A m’interroger sur comment je réagirais en tant que mère quand mes filles vivraient ce genre de choses et si les personnages n’étaient pas tous un peu trop jeunes pour ça haha.

Vive l’âge adulte et les responsabilités de la parentalité.

C’est aussi une des raisons pour lesquelles j’ai préféré la série (dispo sur Amazon Prime) au livre. La série donne une autre dimension aux événements et également de la profondeur aux personnages adultes du livre, en leur permettant d’exister autrement qu’à travers des yeux de Belly.

Bref, une romance légère et pleine de nostalgie, parfaite pour l’été et pour se rappeler avec tendresse ses quinze ans, qu’ils aient eu lieu il y a 15 ans ou que vous soyez encore dedans.
