Maddie, an aspiring writer, has been in an abusive relationship and through a severe accident. She’s been living with her dad but life has just been… a lot. She needs an escape from for a while so she packs a bag and heads to the only place she knows to go, her ex-BFFs brother’s house. Nate, who own a grilled cheese food truck, has always been there for her and he promised he would be there no matter what… so Maddie figures, why not now??

🐈‍⬛𝚃𝚑𝚘𝚞𝚐𝚑𝚝𝚜:
Carissa May has written a really special book. Not only is it an ahhhmayzing romance but it tackles mental health like not many that I’ve seen out there. It’s raw and emotional and REAL. As someone who suffers from anxiety and panic attacks, reading this made me feel so represented. 

And y’all…. Nate is IT. Forget all the other book boyfriends/girlfriends/dragons. He’s the one. Is it close enough to Christmas? Santa? Can I have a Nate?? I mean, I know I can’t have THIS Nate but mine doesn’t have to have gray sweatpants… they can have blue or something. 🤷‍♀️
Also, Tuna is the bestest cat. 

🧀Told in alternating timelines in a really beautiful way, we get to see Maddie’s thoughts as she was going through her former relationship. It also features epistolary style, which I love.
