Maddie, an aspiring writer, has been in an abusive relationship and through a severe accident. Sheโ€™s been living with her dad but life has just beenโ€ฆ a lot. She needs an escape from for a while so she packs a bag and heads to the only place she knows to go, her ex-BFFs brotherโ€™s house. Nate, who own a grilled cheese food truck, has always been there for her and he promised he would be there no matter whatโ€ฆ so Maddie figures, why not now??

Carissa May has written a really special book. Not only is it an ahhhmayzing romance but it tackles mental health like not many that Iโ€™ve seen out there. Itโ€™s raw and emotional and REAL. As someone who suffers from anxiety and panic attacks, reading this made me feel so represented.

And yโ€™allโ€ฆ. Nate is IT. Forget all the other book boyfriends/girlfriends/dragons. Heโ€™s the one. Is it close enough to Christmas? Santa? Can I have a Nate?? I mean, I know I canโ€™t have THIS Nate but mine doesnโ€™t have to have gray sweatpantsโ€ฆ they can have blue or something. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ
Also, Tuna is the bestest cat.

๐Ÿง€Told in alternating timelines in a really beautiful way, we get to see Maddieโ€™s thoughts as she was going through her former relationship. It also features epistolary style, which I love.
