So this was an impulse birthday purchase for myself and I did enjoy it. I appreciated the research the author put into Caroline’s childhood and the hardships faced by her family before she married Charles. I also enjoyed the historical accuracy of the tale. Some bits seemed like a copy of the children’s book, so I only gave it 3/5 stars.
