House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas
5.0

Utterly amazing. Having been a massive fan of Sarah J.Maas's other series, particularly throne of glass, I had no doubts I would love this book. It was incredible - a perfect mix of fantasy with modern elements, I really enjoyed the world that was created in Cresent City. The hierarchies, the mythology - the inspiration from the Roman Empires and the Norse - it all vibrates through the pages stunningly. Bryce reminded me alot of Aelin and Fayre, while being her own character entirely and that's what I love about Sarah J.Maas- that you can feel all the world's she creates are linked in the same universe, and are hinted at.
I enjoyed the mystery, trying to connect the dots all the way through, the bombshells that fell and the twists and turns and danger as the clock ticked down, page after page, chapter after chapter. It did take me a while to finish but that was because of my own reading stump and dealing with lockdown ect- not because of this book in anyway.
I honestly think this will be her best series yet, and I can't wait to see what happens next. But sidenote, can we please see more of Declan in the next book? I might be in love. 5 stars aren't enough.
