emberology 's review for:
Wide Sargasso Sea
by Jean Rhys
Though my curiosity of Rochester's motives to act the way he did wasn't fully satisfied I loved the writing style. The atmosphere of the West Indies was skillfully created without long descriptions. I could feel the pressing heat and smell the flowers and picking up small connections with Jane Eyre was interesting because these two are interwoven in a lot of different ways. I can't explain it properly but it was a bit dreamlike, especially the third part.
