I read this book because it was a historical fantasy others were recommending.

Characters: Too many POVs made it confusing at times. I could only get into a few of characters.
Those that I did get into were great (Severin and Laila)

World: I really enjoyed the world building. I liked the magical aspect and the Paris vibe. Well done!

Plot: The plot started out slow, I almost DNF. I kept reading because the Severin POV chapters drew me in.

Writing: The writing style was good, but very confusing. I kept having to go back and look which character she was talking about.

Summary: Decent, confusing historical fiction fantasy book. Will read book 2 because I heard it was better and I invested in the series.
